INTEGRATED PEST MANAGEMENT
Diagnosis
Diagnosis starts immediately when scouting begins. Diagnosis questions include:
- Where and when did the problem start?
- Type of plant(s) affected?
- Old or new wood?
- Fertility/pesticides applied?
- Light cycle of individual plant?
- Rhizosphere/root conditions?
- What measures have been taken? What was the efficacy of those measures?
- Damage patterns?
Threshold Levels
The point at which pest and/or disease populations exceed an acceptable level based on economics, environmental, aesthetics, and other factors.
Intervention
Determine what the best strategy for control based on efficacy and threshold levels.
